Myrtis Howell Lovelace

Myrtis Howell Lovelace Asheville - Myrtis Howell Lovelace, 74, of 3702 Trinity Ct. died Monday, September 3, 2001 at Mission St. Josephs Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Lovelace was a native of Gastonia, NC and was a daughter of the late William Wesley Howell and Emma Wyatt Howell of Gastonia. She had resided in Asheville for the past 46 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had served as a nursery worker and Sunday School teacher. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Wilbur L. Lovelace of the home; daughter, Diane Hamilton of Hendersonville, NC; sons, Steven Lovelace of Anderson, SC, Richard Lovelace and Jeffery Lovelace both of Asheville; sisters, Lillian Dulin of Rock Hill, SC, and Mildred Falls of Clover, SC; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Green Hills Cemetery with Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 1:30 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 531 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806 or to the Spay and Neuter Clinic, 231 Haywood St., Asheville, NC 28801.
