Mona Howard Sharpe Pinner

Candler – Mona Howard Sharpe Pinner, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at her residence.

Mona was born on January 9, 1946, in Asheville to Esley William Howard and Katherine Hazel Redmond. Mona worked for American Enka/Brand Rex for 18 years and then for Mission Hospital as a Certified Nurse Assistant for 10 years, and for the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center for 15 years. She had a love of helping others. Her best friends were her 7 dogs. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her father, Esley Howard, and mother, Katherine Redmond. Mona was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Ray Sharpe; second husband, Edwin Franklin Pinner; and brother, James “Jimmy” Howard; sister, Diane Grant; and grandson, Nathan Sharpe.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Lisa Sharpe and husband Jack Perry, Laura Turner and husband Rodney, and Lola O’Brien and husband Bryan; grandchildren: Cassandra Perry, Amanda Smith, Brandi Pressley(Destin), Benjamin Perry(Brooke), Deneil Sharpe, Chris Moses Jr., and Anthony Thomas; great-grandchildren: Christian, Ayden, David, Hailey, Bailey, Paisley, Isaiah, Nyah, Amyah, Jeremiah, Aubry, Kayman, Brayden, and Kash; great-great-grandchildren: Bentley, Nalicia, and Adalynn. A sister, Vera Logan; a brother, Joseph B. Howard; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Stoney Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 494 Black Oak Cove Rd, Candler, NC 28715, with Rev. Jeff Massey officiating.

The family will receive friends and family at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Monday October 24, 2022 from 6 till 8 PM.
