Asheville Minnie Bell Sams Brown, 86, born February 10, 1927 went home to be with Jesus February 20, 2013. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Brown was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for years. She was the daughter of the late Chonis and Dessie Rice Sams and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Emerson Sams and Ernest Sams; sister, Robena Sams Metcalf and former husbands, James Vernon Burleson, Jr. and Clark Pete Brown. Surviving are her daughters, Jackie Crow and Marsha Ruby and husband Dan all of Knoxville, TN; son, Morris Moose Burleson and wife Sandy of Weaverville; grandsons, Jeremy Ruby, Jonathan and wife Brittany, Nathaniel and Samuel Crow; great grandsons, Isaiah and Jordan Ruby; step grandsons, Rodney Keaton and wife Anna and Rhett Keaton; step granddaughter, Molly Anderson; step children, Jerry and Joe Burleson, Judy Griffin, Clark Brown and Judy Brown Garren; brothers, Edward Sams and wife Betty of Cartersville, VA and Ellis Sams and wife Myrtle of Haughton, LA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. H.L. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hearts With Hands, P.O.
