Miles Forrest Debruhl

Alexander – Miles Forrest DeBruhl, 82, born March 16, 1940, entered into his eternal home on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Miles was a son of the late Gardner Gary DeBruhl and Clara Ledford DeBruhl.

Miles attended Clyde A. Erwin High School and then joined the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, Miles enjoyed working and throughout his lifetime he owned and operated several businesses including Miles Motors where he sold used cars until transitioning into selling RVs in the 1980’s. Later he owned and operated Miles Amoco convenience stores. In addition to working, Miles enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake, mowing, antique cars, and watching NASCAR. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the Asheville Ski Club of Lake James.

Miles is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Colene Stines DeBruhl; sons: Tracy Miles (Kem), Linsey Myron and wife Teresa, and Kelly Stines and wife Miranda; grandchildren: Heather, Trae, Jesse, Shelby (Zachary), Mallory, and Maddax; a great-grandson due in May, Landon Zachary Maag; sister, Deborah Williams and husband David; and many extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 till 2 PM at the funeral home.
