Mildred Patton

ASHEVILLE - Mildred Lucille Murray Patton, 91, of Le-An Hurst Road, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Furman Roy and Ollie Mae Harwood Murray, and the wife of the late John Sidney Patton, Sr., who passed away January 18, 1998. Mrs. Patton was also preceded in death by her grandson, John Sidney Patton, III; brothers: Howard and Carroll Murray; and sister, Dorothy Baldwin. Surviving are her daughters: Carol Ann Cole and husband Richard of Arden, Diana Patton of Asheville and Debra DeCurtis and husband Dave of Charleston, SC; son, John Sidney Patton, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great, great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam McLamb officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery, Skyland. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM Monday at the funeral home.
