Mildred Genell Buckner

Weaverville - Mildred Genell Buckner, 87, of 605 Old Mars Hill Hwy. died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A life long resident of Buncombe Co., she was a member of French Broad Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Buckner was the daughter of the late Gaston and Hattie Carter Warlick and was the wife of the late Alvoid Buckner who died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Warlick. Surviving are daughter, Janie B. Crane and husband Kenneth of Weaverville; grandchildren, Kenny Crane and wife Melissa and Candy Grindstaff and husband Jody; great grandchildren, Justin Crane and Hannah Genell Grindstaff. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ralph Roberts and Dale Banks officiating. Burial will be in French Broad Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
