Michael Dean "Mike" Haney

Asheville - Michael Dean Mike Haney, 55, of 109 Alabama Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a former employee of WE Bolton Construction as a plumbers assistant. Mike was an avid NASCAR fan, and a member of the Asheville Moose Lodge. Mike was the son of Joyce Bernice Ramsey Haney of Asheville and the late Carrol Haney. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Haney. Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his sisters: Nancy Riedel and husband William of Weaverville, Jeannie Hargis and husband David of Candler, and Gale Schultz of Asheville; special friend, Margie House of Asheville; niece, Krista Dockery and husband Michael of Weaverille; and nephews: Daniel Hargis and Timothy Schultz, both of Asheville. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Ingram officiating.
