Mazel Cogdill Heiner

January 14, 1922 — September 8, 2002

Asheville - Mazel Elizabeth Cogdill Heiner, 80, of 10 Clarendon Ave. died Sunday September 8, 2002 after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from A. B. Emblem after 30 years of service and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late John Fate and Leah Elizabeth Sams Cogdill and the wife of the late Benjamin Foster Heiner. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Haney of Skyland; son, Benny Heiner of Mocksville; sisters, Evelyn Powell of Candler, Gladys Cogdill and Pat Ford both of Asheville; brother, Richard Cogdill of Asheville; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
