Mary Rhodes

Fletcher Mary Grace McCarson Rhodes, 89, formerly of 72 Summerwalk Drive, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Universal Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, she worked as a supervisor with Ruth Originals, and was a member of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Rhodes was the daughter of the late James and Grace Lanning McCarson, and the wife of the late William Burgin Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leslie Shannon Miller, and three sisters: Sue, Frances, and Mildred. Surviving are her son, Donald Burgin Rhodes and wife Judy of Fletcher; daughters: Katherine Warren and husband Darrell and Lorene Wilkie and husband Ed, all of Fletcher; sister, Eva of Hendersonville; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Rhodes and Rev. Jeff Wilkie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Roy Waldroup officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
