Alexander – Mary Joyce Moore Honeycutt, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Emerald Ridge Health Care Center.
A native of Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Moore and Minnie Alice Chandler Moore, and wife of the late Max Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Ethel, Plutiny, and Alma; and brothers, Wiley and Bobby.
Mrs. Honeycutt worked in manufacturing for 40 years with Farnum Mfg. and AB Emblem. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was equally loved by her family. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughters: Sharon Castle and husband William, Donna Turner and husband David, and LaVonda DeJongh and husband Martin; grandchildren: Lauren and husband Bradley, Alexandra and husband Cameron, Keeley, Justin and wife Amber, and Shelby; great-grandchildren: Carter, Addison, and a great-granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Elk Mountain Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Four Seasons Hospice for all their care given to Mrs. Honeycutt and her family.
