Mary Frances Penland

Asheville - Mary Frances Walsh Penland, 79 of 160 New Haw Creek Road went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 2, 2005. A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of the late Allie Mae and Melvin Clenard Walsh. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Zeb B. Penland Sr.. Mrs Penland was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and also attended Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to worship the Lord and attended any church going activities. She will be missed by her friends and family and remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Penland is survived by her daughter, Debra Penland of the home; son, Zeb Penland, Jr. of the home and his wife Tonya Calloway of Asheville; brother, Melvin Walsh II and wife Helen of Asheville 3 grandchildren, Donald Lamb and wife Heather of Weaverville, Amanda Penland of Asheville and Grace Maria Penland of Asheville; 2 step grandchildren, Greg Roberts and Brittney Oliveira both of Asheville and 2 great grandkids, Chance and Savannah Lamb both of Weaverville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Morningside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. David Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Enka. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
