Mary Ellen Gilliland

Fairview - Mary Ellen Gilliland, 95, passed away Tuesday October 26 at her residence. A native of Kentucky, she had lived in Buncombe County since she was 12 years old. She was a member of Spring Mt. Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Amanda Jane Gilliland and the wife of the late Britton Sylvester Gilliland, Sr. Surviving are her sons, Junior Gilliland and wife Pat of Deltona, FL and Scott Gilliland of the home; daughters, Brenda Gregory and husband Alvin of Fairview and Geraldine "Gerri" Lunsford of Asheville; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Friday at Spring Mt. Baptist Church with graveside services following in the church cemetery with Rev. Jeff Burchette officiating.
