Mary Beck Strickland

Mary Magdaline Beck Strickland, 79, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Sam B. Beck and Loretta Ann Hannah Beck, and the wife of the late Charles Edward Strickland who passed away on November 14, 2023.

Mary attended Sand Hill Baptist Church and worked for many years for Williams Elementary School in Swannanoa and the Lake Junaluska Ministry as a custodian.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rose Marie McMurtrie and husband Scott Thomas; and many extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the chapel at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Tim Warren officiating.
