MARS HILL Marvin Barnett Reeves, 88, formerly of West Asheville passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Madison Manor Health Care. A native of Walnut, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired as Bus Driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and following retirement, he drove for Youngs Transportation, was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #891 and was a US Army veteran during WWII. Mr. Reeves was the son of the late Ephraim Gale Wells Reeves and Magnolia Rice Reeves and husband of Mary Edith Deitz Reeves who died December 20, 1998. Surviving are his son, Tim Reeves of Asheville; daughter, Lynn Chandler & husband Larry; and granddaughter, Chrissy Chandler all of Weaverville; sisters, Lucy Beddingfield of Hendersonville and Wille Mae Decker of Granite City, Ill. Graveside services will be held 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Brian Hanrahan officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: Eliada Home for Children, P.O.
