Marty Craig

Asheville - Martin Roosevelt Marty Craig, 43, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Craig worked at the Grove Park Inn for the past 26 years. He was the son of the late Leonard Craig and Shirley Taylor Creasman. Surviving are his daughter, Marea Facundo; brother, Joseph Junior Craig; sisters: Mae Thorpe (Gary), Vicki Sweat (Tim), and Nancy Hipps (Chris); several aunts and uncles, including Juanita Dial of the home; 4 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Laws and Rev. Greg Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home of Mr. Craig, 337 Lower Grassy Branch Road, Asheville, NC.
