Martha Reid

July 20, 1926 — October 30, 2021

Asheville – Martha Lee Reid, 95, of 213 Richmond Hill Drive went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the WNC Baptist Home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a member of Patton Cove Gospel Mission and had retired from Charles D. Owen Manufactory Co. Mrs. Reid was a daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Herring Reid and was also preceded in death by her four sisters and twin brother. Surviving are her daughters, Roberta Raby and husband, Yuell of Woodfin, Kathey Biermann of Marion, Tanya McDevitt and husband, Tommy of Swannanoa and Joann McDevitt of Ellenboro; 10 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Patton Cove Gospel Mission Church, Swannanoa, with the Rev. Paul Norton and Rev. Powell Young officiating. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of the WNC Baptist Home for their love and support given to our Mom and family during her stay.
