Martha Jarrett Glenn

November 3, 1935 — June 30, 2010

Asheville Martha Jarrett Glenn, 74, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Martha was born in Madison County, the daughter of the late Homer and Allie Jarrett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Glenn; daughter, Deborah Sue Glenn; and brother, Hubert Jarrett. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Glenn and wife Megan of Charlotte; two grandchildren: Tyler and Jake Glenn, whom she loved and adored; two sisters: Wilma Freeman of Asheville and Shelby Robinson of Mars Hill; two brothers: Aubrey Jarrett (Joyce) of Knoxville, TN, and Norman Jarrett (Mary) of Weaverville; several nieces and nephews; and two special cousins: Ruby Plantignga and Nellie Payne. For the past three years, Martha had called the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge in Asheville her home. She dearly loved the staff who cared for her so deeply and enjoyed the patients immensely. A special thanks to Dr. Joe R. Babb, Interim Pastor of Morningside Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday at Morningside Baptist Church, with Dr. Joe Babb officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, and at other times the family will be at the home of Norman and Mary Jarrett, 43 Green Ridge Road, Weaverville, NC. Flowers are accepted and appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 14 Mineral Springs Road, Asheville, NC 28805, or to Care Partners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
