Martha C. Lowe

Asheville - Martha Cauthen Lowe, 88, of 234 Sulphur Springs Road died unexpectedly Saturday November 17, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A lifelong resident of Asheville, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Louis Edward and Julia Bell Cauthen and the wife of the late Charles Thelbert Lowe. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Margaret King, Sarah Grose and Rose Spivey and brothers, Henry, George and David Cauthen. Surviving are her daughters, Pete Hitt and husband Perry and Mary Etta Bagwell and Becky Boone all of Asheville; son, Charles Chuck Lowe and wife Phyllis of College Grove, TN; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Hitt, William Bagwell III, Julia and Jeffrey Boone and David Lowe, Jr; great granddaughter, Mackenzie Hitt; several nieces and nephews and a special niece Rose Rumbough. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Welborn officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
