Marlon Craig Tweed

Asheville - Marlon Craig Tweed, 48, of 120 Pinecroft Road, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Clintwood, VA, Craig had resided in Buncombe County for over 40 years. He attended Beaverdam Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. Craig was the son of Ruby Lucas Tweed of Asheville and the late Jack C. Tweed. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kevin S. Tweed. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife, Sheila Hawkins Tweed of Alexander; son, Jackson Tweed of Alexander; sisters: Denise Chisholm of Kissimmee, FL and Tina Thuro of St. Louis, MO; brother, Gregory C. Tweed of Weaverville; maternal grandmother, Orpha Lucas of Bristol, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lonnie Ray officiating. Entombment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of his mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jackson Tweed Education Fund, c/o State Employees Credit union, 701 N. Broadway Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
