Marlene Reed Kendall

October 22, 1934 — January 10, 2015

Marlene Reed Kendall, 80, of Marshall, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Mrs. Kendall was the daughter of the late E.C. Reed and Mary Majure Reed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, who passed away November 15, 1999, William Garrett Kendall, Sr. She had been looking forward to a day when she would be reunited with the love of her life. Mrs. Kendall was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and retired after 35 years from American Airlines as an airline reservationist. Surviving are her children: Jim Kendall of Asheville, Hank Kendall and wife Nancy of Marshall, Ellen Aller and husband Larry of Manassas, VA, and Bill Kendall and wife Leslie of Asheville; brothers: George Reed of Kingsport, and Charles Reed and wife Nadine of Estes Park, CO; grandchildren: Echo, Jim, Michael, Erich, Donna, Delton, Billy, Danny, Mary, and Jenny; great-grandchildren: Mackenzi, Paizlee, Oliver, Sierra, Andrew, Bryce, Jasmine, Julie, Jordan, Mollie Claire, Garrett, Hannah, Seth, Perry, Kai, Melia, Joshua, Jacob, and Patrick; great-great-granddaughter, Kylie; niece, Karen Reed; and friend and caretaker, Mollie Ann Silver. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Weaverville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Kendall family.
