Marie Worley Lipe

On Monday December 26th, 2022, Martha “Marie” Worley Lipe walked through the gates of Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 81 years old.

Born in Asheville, NC in 1941, Marie grew up loving God, her family, and friends. She always met people with a smile and was delighted to serve all of those around her. Lovingly known as Nana by her grandchildren, she was extremely loyal to her church and enjoyed country cooking and serving family and friends every Sunday and definitely every holiday.

Marie retired from the Gerber Products Company after 33 years of service and fondly recalled memories of friends of co-workers over the years.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Preston Lipe Sr. and son Rufus Preston Lipe Jr. Marie is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Darlene Frisbee and granddaughter Ann Marie Sparks; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Traci Lipe, and granddaughter Sierra and grandson Alex Lipe; granddaughters Whitney Lipe Radcliff and Katlyn Lipe Jolly along with 3 great grandchildren; Kensington and Kennedy Radcliff and Wilson Jolly.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 2, 2022, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home at 1428 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 till 7 PM at the funeral home.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
