Marie V. Fisher

Marie V. Fisher, 83, of Woodfin and formerly of Marshall, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the WNC Baptist Home. Mrs. Fisher was the daughter of the late Ulious and Pearl Dowell Vick. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, R.B. Fisher; a daughter, Brenda Gail Fisher; and a brother, George Ray Vick. Surviving are her daughters: Barbara Davis and Paul of Woodfin, Joyce Peek and Danny of Asheville, and Judy Melton and Wayne of Fletcher; a sister, Rosalee Howard of Lowell; six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 20, 2013, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall. The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the WNC Baptist Home for their kind care of Mrs. Fisher.
