WOODFIN - MARIE DeWEESE BUCKNER, AGE 71, PASSED THROUGH HEAVENS GATES SATURDAY NIGHT, AFTER A COURAGEOUS STRUGGLE WITH SEVERAL ILLNESSES AND DISABILITIES. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY A GREAT HOST OF FRIENDS AND CHILDREN, UPON WHOM SHE HEAPED LAVISH PRAISE AND LOVE - AND THEY DID LIKEWISE. MARIE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE CLYDE L. AND GIPSIE DeBORD DeWEESE. SHE WAS EMPLOYED BY SQUARE D. COMPANY FOR 18 YEARS AND WAS A MEMBER OF ELKWOOD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND THE WOODFIN SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB. SHE IS SURVIVED BY A BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW, JAMES AND MARY FRANCES DeWEESE OF ASHEVILLE; FOUR NIECES, STEPHANIE D. BIGSBY OF HICKORY, MARLENE D. WOLFE OF HOUSTON, TX., JAN D. LePORE OF ASHEVILLE AND KIMBERLY DeWEESE OF CHARLOTTE; AS WELL AS TWO GREAT-NIECES, JAMIE BIGSBY OF CHARLOTTE AND JENNIFER BIGSBY OF GREENSBORO; AND ONE GREAT-NEPHEW, RICKY WOLFE OF HOUSTON, TX. GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT PISGAH VIEW MEMORIAL PARK ON TUESDAY AT 1:OO P.M., THE REV. ENOCH BALL, JR. WILL OFFICIATE. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 7 TO 8:30 P.M.
