Asheville - Marian Rochelle Parker Warren, 80, of 529 Bailey Road passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Jackson County and resident most of her life of Buncombe County. She retired in 1992 from American Enka and BASF following 42 years of service, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Warren was the daughter of the late Charles Clinton Parker, Sr. and Henrietta Jane Pell Parker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Bates who died January 1959; sister, Patsy Nizamian; brothers, Gerald Parker and Reginald Parker. Surviving are her husband, Charles Willard Warren, Sr. of the home; children, Larry Bates & wife Marsha of Sylva, Karen Craig and Ronald Bates & wife Patricia all of Asheville, Debbie Briggs of Candler and Chuck Warren & wife Kim of Black Mtn; step children, Mary Jo West & husband Conley and Donna Morgan & husband Billy all of Candler and Janet Kennedy & husband Tom of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren, Chris Bates, Crystal, Kevin & Courtney Warren, Jaclyn Briggs, Connie Swingle, Cathy Penland, Chris West, Stephanie Morgan, Tyler Kennedy, Jason & Kristie Coggins; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Clinton Parker, Jr. & wife Freeda of Asheville. Funeral services will be held 12:30 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in the WNC State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Karen Craig, 18 Daisy Lane, Asheville.
