Margaret Wooten

Leicester Margaret Wilde Wooten, 71, of Leicester, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Joseph Campus surrounded by her family. A native of Madison County, Ms. Wooten had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She had retired as an inspector in the textile industry, and most recently had worked in the dietary department of Pisgah Manor. She was a dedicated member of Fellowship Baptist Church, and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ms. Wooten was the daughter of the late Dwight and Alice Wilde. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Brown, and eight siblings. Surviving are her sons: Victor Johnston and wife Rachel, Stanley Johnston and wife Judy, and Darron Brown and wife Melanie; grandchildren: Jeremy Johnston, Nathan Johnston, Christina Sprinkle, April Johnston, David Rogers, Alan (A.J.) Brown, and Eric Brown; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters: Minnie Morrow and Geraldine Helms; brother, Frank Wilde; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close, special friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Zane Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 9:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
