Candler Margaret Leah McCracken Tiller, 85, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County, she was an avid piano player since the age of 3 and was the organist for Anders-Rice Funeral Home since 1978. She was supportive of her husbands ministry through her gift of music in both piano and organ for over 60 years. Mrs. Tiller was the daughter of the late James G. McCracken and Julia Appleline Jervis McCracken. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James William McCracken and step brother, Joe Hughey. Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years (married November 19, 1950) Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller of the home; children, Rev. Dr. David Tiller and wife Debi of Smyrna, TN, Mark Tiller and wife Ann of Candler and Nancy Tiller (Tommy Rice) of Candler; step mother, Mildred Mickey McCracken of Asheville and step brother, Douglas Hughey and wife Teresa of Asheville; 7 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller, Rev. Dr. David Tiller and Rev. Matt Tiller officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
