SWANNANOA - MARGARET LOUISE CANTRELL BELL, 81, OF 84 STROUPE ROAD, DIED WEDNESDAY APRIL 4, 2001 AT ST. JOSEPHS HOSPITAL. A NATIVE OF TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY SHE HAD LIVED MOST OF HER LIFE IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY. SHE HAD RETIRED FROM KEARFOTT IN 1981 AS AN INSPECTOR. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF SWEETEN CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH AND FORMER MEMBER OF TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE CLAUDE AND ANNIE GARREN CANTRELL AND WIFE OF THE LATE JAMES RUSSELL BELL, SR WHO DIED DECEMBER 20, 1988. SURVIVING ARE HER DAUGHTERS, BOBBI LEMON AND HUSBAND ED OF ASHEVILLE AND MARTHA STROUPE AND HUSBAND REV. JIM OF SWANNANOA; SON JAMES RUSSELL JIM BELL, JR. AND WIFE JUDY OF GREENVILLE, NC; SISTERS, TILLIE BULLIS OF ST. CLOUD, FL., ALLIE MAE RIDDLE OF GAINESVILLE, GA. AND MARTHA CORNELIA STROUPE OF LAKE STEVENS, WA; BROTHER, ROBERT L. BOB CANTRELL OF ASHEVILLE; 14 GRANDCHILDREN, 19 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND 2 GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11 AM SATURDAY IN THE ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. JIM STROUPE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE AT BETHESDA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 1 HOUR PRIOR TO THE SERVICE AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
