Margaret Lou Peterson

Asheville - Margaret Lou Nanney Peterson, 92, formerly of 41 Virginia Avenue died Sunday, February 17, 2002 at the McDowell County Hospital following a brief illness. A native of McDowell County. She had resided in Buncombe County from 1912 to her returning to McDowell County in 1997. She was a retired nurse and a former member of Haw Creek Christian Church. Mrs. Peterson was a daughter of the late Willard Cordell and Harriett Josephine Calloway Nanney and was the wife of Norman Peterson who died in 1978. Surviving are her sister in law, Amanda Nanney of Black Mountain and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services were held Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Dean Huggins officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
