Margaret W. Carter

Asheville

Margaret Carolin Wheeler Carter, 92, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Pisgah Manor Health Care.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a homemaker and was member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church since 2012 and formerly a member of Victory Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School for over 50 years.

She was a daughter of the late Ernest Lamar Wheeler and Edith Lucill Rogers Wheeler, and wife of William “Bill” Jackson Carter, Sr. who died August 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Wheeler

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, William “Billy” Carter, Jr. (Tommie); daughter, Susan “Susie” Dicus (Mike); grandchildren: Marcie Dicus, Jodie Dicus, Mark Dicus (Heather), Dylan Dicus (Kate), Lori Connolly, Joni Wellmon (Kevin), and Chip Carter (Lindsay); 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Sprinkle; brother, Mike Wheeler (Gina); sister-in-law, Barbara Carter; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:45 PM on Monday prior to the services at the funeral home.

Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve the Carter family.
