Margaret Ann Crowder

March 12, 1929 — August 10, 2003

Asheville - Margaret Ann Bailey Crowder, 74, of 730 Olivette Road passed away Sunday August 10, 2003 at her residence with her children by her side. A native of Madison County and resident of Buncombe County most of her life. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and was a daughter of the late Curtis Haskew Bailey and Mildia Burnetta Lowe Bailey. She was the wife of Roy Edward Crowder who died September 16, 2001 following 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Crowder was also preceded in death by brothers, Glen Bailey, Paul Bailey and Albert Bailey. Surviving are her son, Roy Edward Eddie Crowder, II and wife, Janice of Asheville; daughter, Denise Ann Huntley and husband, Rick of Asheville; sisters, Bertha Dockery, Dorothy Lee Brown, Ruby Rash and Gladys Huffman all of Asheville, Dollie Norton and Faye Clement both of Alexander, Louise Meeker of West Asheville and Earlene Hensley of Cleveland, TN; brothers, Grady Bailey of Old Fort, Everette Bailey of Asheville and Howard Bailey of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Neal Huntley, Nalina Brenzel and husband, Chris and Eric Davis; great granddaughters, Makaela and Addison Brenzel and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Liberty Baptist Church with Revs. Garry Rogers, Gerald Sprinkle and Danny Little officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
