Margaret A. Penland

Eastover, SC - Margaret Elizabeth Allen Penland, 66, of 10 Aspen Hill Ct., formerly of Asheville, died Friday, December 6, 2001 at Palmeto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C.. A native of Jackson County, she moved to Asheville in 1990 where she was employed as a Buyer with Trinity Industries until her retirement in 2000 at which time she moved to Eastover. Mrs. Penland was the daughter of the late Jan Douglas and Lenora Watson Allen and was the wife of William Carroll Penland who died in August of 1987. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edwin Allen, formerly of Asheville, and Raymond Allen, formerly of Greenville, SC. Surviving are her daughter, Valerie J. Penland of Asheville; son, Douglas C. Penland and wife Lynda of Eastover; granddaughter, Bethanne Penland of Eastover. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Boyce M. Owenby officiating.
