Magielene Lankford Reed

Fairview - Magielene Lankford Reed, 96, passed away Monday May 14, 2007 at Park Ridge Hospital. She was born January 9, 1911 and was a native and lifelong resident of Fairview, NC. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Maggie Lytle Lankford and was the widow of the late E. Frank Reed who died September 4, 1984. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters; Florence M. Lankford, Kate L. Stuart and Mattie L. Smith and 2 brothers, John Robert Lankford and Ernest M. Lankford, Sr. Mrs. Reed was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church and attended Laurel Pines Baptist Church. She was a member of Fairview Fire Dept. Auxillary, Fairview Good Neighbor Club and retired from Sayles-Biltmore Bleachery in 1975 with 46 1/2 years of service. She is survived by a daughter, Clara Jean Wright and husband Bruce Wright of Fairview; sister-in-law, Alene Lankford of Cheaspeake, VA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at Cane Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Owenby officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
