Madeline L. Rickman

Swannanoa Madeline Rose Luther Rickman, 89, of 206 Kennedy Drive, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Asheville Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Rickman retired from Eaton Mfg Co. following many years of service. She was a member of the bowling team at Eaton, enjoyed dancing and had a special love for fishing. Mrs. Rickman was a daughter of the late Burgin Fate Luther and Jermie Elizabeth Plemmons Luther and the wife of Howard Burton Jones who died in 1990 and the late Calvin Rickman who died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Howard Burton Jones, Jr., Bob Charles Jones and Dan Howard Jones. Surviving are her son, Tony Jones (Catherine) of Swannanoa; daughter, Rose Ann Wright (Herman) of Arden; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Rash and Pastor Phillip Trees officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday prior to services at the funeral home.
