Madeleine Lack

Fletcher – Madeleine Dudley Lack, 101, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Elizabeth House. A native of West Chester, PA. She had resided for most of her life in PA, prior to moving to WNC in 2011. She retired from the former Pennsylvania R/R following 42 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. Miss Lack was the daughter of the late Honorable Thomas Lack, Esquire and Emma Myers Lack. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rose Lack Pierce. Surviving are her nephew, Rev. Thomas Alfred Pierce and wife, Barbara with whom she made her home; nieces, Rose Eileen Caldwell and husband, Gary and Marilyn Joan Jones and husband, the late Deacon Jones all of Asheville, and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Thursday, December 30, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Ted Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM Thursday prior to services at the funeral home.
