Mabel Tweed Ramsey

February 8, 1922 — April 10, 2002

Asheville - Mabel Marie Tweed Ramsey, 80, of 83 Lanning St. died Wednesday April 10, 2002 at the home of her daughter Sandy Dryman at 82 Stewart St. A native of Greenville, Tn., she had resided in Buncombe County since 1943. She was a retired Practical Nurse and a member of The Candler House of Prayer. She was a daughter of the late Ervin Fowler and Addie Mae Sands Tweed and the wife of the late Ulysess Grant Ramsey, Jr. who died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Ramsey. Surviving are her daughters, Jackie Smith and Sandy Dryman both of Asheville; sons, Ulysess Ramsey of Asheville, Milton Ramsey of New Port Richie, Fl. and Marshall Ramsey of Asheville; sisters, Carol Morris of Gardenia, Cal. and Ruth Riling of German Town, Tn., 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will be in the Madison Seminary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Mt. Area Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, N.C. 28813.
