Weaverville - Lura Elizabeth White Freeman, 86, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Elderberry Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Freeman retired as a nurse from Mission Hospitals following over 25 years of service. She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late Edwin James and Addie Mae Sluder White, and the wife of the late Wade Lowell Freeman, who passed away May 9, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger White, and his wife, Mary Frances White. Surviving are her daughters: Jean Ennist of Etowah, TN and Cheryl Freeman of Weaverville; granddaughter, Rhea Ennist of Knoxville, TN; brother, Bob White and wife Betty of Griffin, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at Red Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Paws on a Mission Pet Therapy, c/o Mission Hospitals, 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Freemans family.
