Asheville Lucille Lee Riddle, affectionately known to family and friends as Nan, went home to be with her lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. She was born in Rutherfordton, NC on June 3, 1918, but spent her adult life in Woodfin. Nan worked in the cloth room at The Mill in Woodfin until her retirement. She loved to garden and read her Bible. She was a devoted, faithful wife to the late Jeter C. Riddle. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Edith Rhodes. Surviving are her only son, Jerry Riddle; step-son, Warren Riddle; step-daughters: Opal Cooper and Polly Lee. She has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom will miss her dearly and loved her very much. She instilled tradition and goodness in all of her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend a great appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center, for the extreme care and love they gave to Lucille.
