Leicester Lou Ella Black Wells, 91, of 16 Piney Mountain Rd., went to be with her Lord Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Riley Alonzo Black and Gertrude Ethel Sealey Black and wife of the late James Edward Wells who died September 25, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Frances L. Carr formerly of Leicester. Mrs. Wells retired December 31, 1986 from Square D and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Janice D. Harris (Charles) of Asheville and Kimberly L. Caraway (Alex) of Leicester; sons, James Randall Wells (Teresa) of Leicester and Richard D. Wells of the home; sister, Christine Boyd (Gilmer) of Asheville; grandchildren, Mark Harris (Esther), Ryan Harris and Brittany Caraway and great grandchildren, Levi, Greyson and Asa. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Monday, May 23, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Surrett and Pastor Rodney Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, 195 Dix Creek #2, Leicester, NC 28748.
