Asheville – Lonnie Edmond King, 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at StoneCreek Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Ralph William King and Harriet Jane Bullman.
Lonnie was an expert on anything with wheels, he worked most of his life as a mechanic where he worked on vehicles ranging from small passenger cars to big rigs and even spent some time behind the wheel as a truck driver. He loved fishing, photography, being a mechanic and most of all his family.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his son; James Edmond King, and brothers; Jack and Richard King.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of forty-one years Dottie King; daughters; Nancy Hellman (David) and Donna King; son; Jacob King (Amauri); grandchildren; Daniel Loudy Jr. (Rebecca), Amber Barnwell (Hunter), Christina Leaper, Jayme King, and John Hill; Seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks those who can make donations to the Manna Foodbank 99 Broadpointe Dr., Mills River, NC 28759.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Oteen Baptist Church.
