Lockie Phillips

Lockie Arrington Phillips, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Edgar Arrington and Sue Emily Norton Arrington, and the wife of the late Edward Lenard Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Grooms; and brothers: Claude Arrington, James Arrington, Troy Arrington, and Frank Arrington. Surviving are her son, Bill Phillips, Sr. and his wife Ruth of Townville, SC; sisters: Roxie Huffman of Mars Hill, and Ledola Willis and husband Walter of Greeneville, TN; brother: N.A. Arrington of Weaverville; 4 grandchildren: Billy, Heather, and Josh Phillips, and Brennen Wilson; 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the chapel of Trinity Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with Pastor Allen Rash and Pastor Donnie Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. The Phillips family would like to express a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of the Brian Center Health and Rehab for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Mrs. Phillips and her family.
