Lisa Hooker Schultz

April 4, 1960 — April 19, 2023

Lisa Hooker Schultz, 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2023, at her home in Asheville, NC. A vibrant and passionate soul, she will be forever missed by family and friends from all over this beautiful world.

Lisa Schultz was born to Dr. Don and Sally Schultz on April 4, 1960, and was raised in Vero Beach, FL. She graduated from Saint Edwards High School in 1977 and later from Stetson University in 1981. Spending the majority or her professional career in marketing, her true passion for life was found in traveling, art, the outdoors, new experiences and working with non-profit organizations that served to improve the lives of others in need.

Never afraid to take risks, she lived a life full of adventure. A “seeker” by nature, she spent many years living in Orlando, FL but moved often and later lived throughout the U.S., in China and in the Middle East. From swimming with great white sharks in Africa to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Lisa seized every opportunity to travel and immerse herself in the present moment. She truly pushed the boundaries of how much could be seen and experienced in one lifetime.

Lisa is survived by her sister, Patricia Schultz White, brother and sister-in-law, Kurt and Marsha Schultz, nephew, John Schultz White, nieces, Lauren de Ciutiis, Sydney and Suzanna Schultz, and great nephew and niece, Giovanni and Adele de Ciutiis. She was predeceased by her parents, Don & Sally Schultz, and her late husband, loving travel companion and best friend Jeff Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MANNA FoodBank: 627 Swannanoa River Road, Asheville, NC 28805; The Nature Conservancy or Habitat for Humanity.
