Linda Keener

Bryson City - Linda Gail Southards Keener, 71, received her angel wings and went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Tsali Care Center.

Linda was born on March 30, 1952, in Bryson City. She was the wife of the late Wayne W. Keener, and a daughter of the late Ralph Williams Southards and Edith Ellen Waldroup Southards. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Southards; and great-grandson, Ridge.

Linda was a longtime member of Sawmill Hill Freewill Baptist Church and a life member of the VFW Post 921 Ladies Auxiliary.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Keener of Bryson City; grandchildren: Johnny Woodard, and Miranda Nations; great-grandchildren: Oakland, Kamden, Ryder, and Rowdy; sister, Wanda Barker of Whittier; brother, Larry Southards of Cumming, GA; special niece, Ashley Barker; special great nieces: Shelby Kirkland, Ceana Barker, and Atlas Barker, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, February 26, 2024, at Sawmill Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 170 Sawmill Hill Church Road, Bryson City. Rev. Jimmy Lambert, and Rev. Percy Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:30 AM till 12:30 PM at the church.
