Candler Lillian Ruth Gentry Morris, 87, of 31 Park View Drive, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Autumn Care of Waynesville. A native of Haywood County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was a member of Hominy Valley Independent Church. Mrs. Morris was a daughter of the late William Porter Gentry and Cardtie Alice Gunter Gentry and wife of James William Morris who died May 16, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Emma Jean Moore who died September 26, 2011 and a sister and four brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Ann Morris Francis and husband Jim of Waynesville and Mary Morris Moss and husband Steve of Asheville; son, James William Morris, Jr. of Candler; son-in-law, Robert Moore of Candler; grandchildren, Krista Ann Francis, James Paul Morris, Amanda Moss Edwards, August M. Marick, Kaylen Ashley Francis, Whitney Moss Adams and Natalie Morris; great grandchildren, Morgan Morris, Megan Morris and Kayden Morris; sister, Carrie Arbutus Burnette and husband Buster of Hoopers Creek; brother, Samuel Gentry of Candler and several beloved sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated, however for those who wish, memorials may be made to: Hominy Valley Independent Church, C/o Rev.
