Lillian Leona Edmonds

Asheville Lillian Leona Morgan Edmonds, 91, of 575 Deaverview Road, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Clyde A. Erwin High School as a cafeteria worker, and was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. Mrs. Edmonds was the daughter of the late Russell and Ketie Annie Jones Morgan, and the wife of James R. Edmonds, who passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by two sons: Jimmy and Carroll Edmonds; one brother and two sisters. Surviving are her sons: Nelson Edmonds and wife Carolyn of Wilmington, Nick Edmonds and wife Audrey of Asheville, Robert Edmonds and wife Linda of Asheville, and Jerry Edmonds of Asheville; one daughter, Joyce Edmonds of Asheville; sister, Maddie Davis of Candler; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at White Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, withthe Rev. Homer Moore officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
