"Lg" Davis

Leicester - Little LG Gauvain Davis, Jr., 51, of Leicester, died Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the John F. Keever Solace Center after an extended illness. He was employed by Mills Mfg. for 26 years and attended the Church of God of Prophecy on Leicester Highway. He was the son of the late Little Gauvain Davis, Sr. and Elna Ledford Davis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cleo Sprinkle. L.G. was a loving husband and devoted father. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sheri Gaddy Davis of the home; daughters, Amber Nicholson and her husband Mark (his special son) of Leicester and Autom Davis and her fiance, Jason Crane of Pisgah Forest; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Dixie Gaddy of Dewy Rose, Georgia; brother and sister-in-laws, Rodney and Lori Gaddy of Dewy Rose, GA, Eric and Melinda Gaddy of Leicester, Jason and Jill Gaddy of Elberton, GA and Donna Earley of Canton; brother, Bruce Sprinkle and his wife Marie of Asheville; aunt, Clara DeBruhl of Asheville; several cousins, nieces and nephews; Mark Ferrell and other close friends. A celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Pastors officiating will be Steve Brockwell, James Briggs and Rolf Woodard. Family members and friends are encouraged to recount their special memories of L.G. He was a devoted family man but also loved to fish on beautiful days and talking to his buddies on the C.B. Radio. L.G. was full of life and spent many happy hours riding his motorcycle. L.G. had a great personality and never met a stranger. He was liked by all who knew him.
