Leonard M. Johnston

Asheville - Leonard Marvin Johnston, 85, of 6 Ferry Road passed away Monday April 17, 2006 at Magnolia Health Care Center following a brief Illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Gerber Baby Products and formerly attended Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Johnston had also retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army following 21 years of service and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a son of the late Boyd Duffus Johnston and Gertrude Buckner Johnston and was also preceded in death by brothers Bill, Jim and Aaron Johnston Surviving are his daughters Carol Ann Skinner and husband Duane of Lee Summit, MO and Linda Shanahan of Blue Springs, MO; sons, Rusty Johnston and wife Barbara of Louisville KY and Gary Johnston and wife Robin of Buffalo MO; sister, Louise Gosnell of Asheville; brother, Duff Johnston and wife Margaret of Asheville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at Anders Rice Funeral Home
