Asheville Lemuel Frederick Moore, Jr., 92, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Givens Estate. A native of Atlanta, GA, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1970. He retired in 1988 following 18 years of service with the City of Asheville, and at the time of his retirement, he served as Supervisor of City Building Inspectors. He was a WWII veteran, having retired in 1970 following 28 years of service with the US Navy, where at the time of his retirement, he served as Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a member of the Biltmore Masonic Lodge #446. Mr. Moore was a son of the late Lemuel Frederick Moore, Sr. and Delilah Hameric Moore and the husband of Jean Moore who died August 1, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Delores Rice. Surviving are his son, Steve Moore and wife Pam of Asheville; daughter, Joyce Moore Wolf and husband Byron of Manitou Springs, CO; grandchildren, Shane Moore and wife Krystal of Longmont, CO, Jeff Moore and wife Ginny of Concord and Merrick Wolf and husband Eric of Indian Hills, CO; great grandchildren, Jacob, Grayson and Connor Moore and brother, R.B. Moore and wife Pat of Asheville. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating.
