Candler – Leesa “Dee-Do” Bishop Jones, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late George L. Bishop and Betty L. James Bishop, and wife of the late James “Raymond” Jones. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Hunter Earley, and sister, Linda Grant.
Leesa was a caregiver for most of her life and was employed with the Western Freewill Baptist Home. She was a talented piano player and singer, having sung with the “Revivers” for ten years, the “True Believers”, and also “Bound By Love”. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and still enjoyed playing and singing with her daughter, Melanie. She loved everyone and welcomed everyone as her own family.
Leesa is survived by her daughter, Melanie Jones (Gary); grandson, Patrick Earley (Christian); great-grandchildren: Havannah, Bristol, James, and Braylan; brother, Larry Bishop (Barbara); and many precious nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Ward officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 till 1:45 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Patrick Earley, Gary Hampton, Jason Jones, Dylan Kagley, Martin Maynez, and Dalton Revis.
The Jones family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of CarePartners Hospice, Bronsalea “Peanut”, and Holly, our dear sisters in Christ, for all the care and compassion given to Leesa and her family.
