Larry B. Stackhouse

Fletcher - Larry Bruce Stackhouse, 61, of 1010 Hutch Mountain Road, died Friday, April 4, 2003 following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County. He had resided in Jeffersonville, Indiana from 1969 to 1982 and a resident of Henderson County since 1985. Mr. Stackhouse was employed at Carolina Village in Hendersonville, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in his garden. He was a son of the late Charles D. Stackhouse and Virginia Mae Anderson Stackhouse. Surviving are his companion, Sandra Lee Briggs of Fletcher; daughter, Vicky Lee Cardwell of Chesapeake, VA; son, Gary Michael Stackhouse of Louisville, KY; former wife, Brenda Stackhouse of Charlestown, Indiana; Sister, Virginia Eileen Peck of Jeffersonville, Indiana; brothers, Charles D. Stackhouse, III of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Harvey W. Stackhouse of Simpsonville, S.C.; grandchildren, Susan, Katherine and Michael Cardwell and Alye and Karlye Stackhouse. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Hanger officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ones favorite charity in his honor.
