Candler – Landon Jack Gosnell, 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Elderberry Health Care Center.
A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1960. He retired from BASF and served as custodian at A.C. Reynolds High School. He was a member of Good News Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran.
Mr. Gosnell was a son of the late Walter Richard Gosnell and Nettie Cook Gosnell, and wife of Lela Shelton Gosnell who died September 5, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Freda Belt, Christine Gosnell, Frances Penland, and Dana Baker; and brothers: Willard Gosnell, and Bruce Gosnell.
Surviving are his sister, Doris Rice; brother, Walter Eugene Gosnell and wife Kathleen; sister-in-law, Pamela Gosnell; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Military Honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 9 till 10 AM Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.
